Corregidor: A Place Full of History

Paul and I were scheduled to take a Cagayan-Ilocos-La Union tour but becuase of typhoon Mina we did not push the plan. It should have been one historic tour. The typhon made us stay inside the house for two days.

It was Sunday when Paul and I went to Manila Bay to book a tour Corregidor. (This was a replacement tour.) After booking, we prayed and hoped that the weather will cooperate.

It rained hard the night before out tour. I thought we will not be allowed to take the tour. Thanks to the beautiful morning on the day of our tour, Sun Cruises was allowed to take trippers to the island.

Sun Cruises leaves Manila at 8am and arrives at 4pm. Ideally speaking though.

The ride going to the island took an hour and a half. I think that was because the weather was not yet that good.

Trams were already waiting for the tourists in the island. There were six trams including one dedicated for Japanese. I think Japanese people want to see how their military fought the battle in Corregidor.

Our tour guide, kuya Cesar, discussed history as if he was there when the event happened. I really enjoyed his company.

The tour lasted for 4 hours. After the tour, tourists who were not booked at the hotel were brought to the docking area to ride the boat going back to Manila.

Paul and I opted to stay because we wanted to climb the light house again. And we wanted to explore the island more.

Here are a few pictures at the island. We explored it and conquered it. Hope you find time to visit this historic island that reminds me of the heroes of the war.
